Our IRATA approved rope access team provide a safe, cost-effective and non-disruptive solution for installation, cleaning, and maintenance at height. Our experienced team have worked on many iconic buildings in the UK and work to a strict set of procedures to always ensure safety.
It is especially important to select a qualified contactor to carry out any work at height on your building. We all have a legal responsibility to make sure work is carried out safely.
“The purpose of The Work at Height Regulations 2005 is to prevent death and injury caused by a fall from height. If you are an employer or you control work at height (for example facilities managers or building owners who may contract others to work at height) the Regulations apply to you.”
We solve 95% of all access issues during the first site assessment and provide clear site-specific RAMS for every aspect of any work getting carried out.
Traditional mop and squeegee still gives the best results, which is why we do most ground floor windows with this method.
Using a water fed or Reach & wash method is now commonplace for commercial window cleaning services. Particularly where the windows are above ground, it becomes the preferred method due to removing the need to work at height.
Our window cleaning services cover retail, restaurants, hotels, industrial units, hospitals, offices, petrol stations, care homes, council buildings, government buildings, offices, colleges and schools all over the UK.
Reach & wash window cleaning services upto 80ft. Windows, frames, cladding, canopy and building wash downs. All done from the ground to reduce the risk as much as possible.
All our operatives are trained in all aspects of window cleaning. We believe in improving our workforce and commitment to the highest of safety standards.
Traditional mop and squeegee will give the best results. Add fairy liquid to a bucket of warm water, dip mop in bucket and apply the solution to the window. Use the squeegee to remove the solution from the glass, don’t remove the squeegee from the glass until all the soap is removed. It’s all in the wrist and making sure you finish against the frame to get a steak free finish.
All depends on access method for the window cleaning services you require.
A ground floor window with easy access can be cleaned in minutes.
A high-level window can be cleaned in 5-10mins with a Reach & wash.
Generally, £20-30 per hour would be a good estimate where there is no work at height required.
High level windows using MEWP’s or rope access have additional down time and different costs associated with them depending on the location and ease of access.
Getting your windows cleaned by a professional is not as expensive as you might think. In the long run, it will most likely save you money as you are reducing the normal wear & tear caused by dirt & debris. You reduce the chance of potential damage, which can result in costly chemical cleans or needing new windows.
When you have carried out an appropriate risk assessment and it is safe to do so. It is a good time to have your windows cleaned.
There are various arguments about what types of weather you can’t clean windows in. The fact is you can clean windows in most weather and it will still reduce the dirt and debris on the window.
IRATA Members overall have an excellent safety record.
If you look at the IRATA work and safety analysis report 2020, they state “There was 246 reported events of which 173 where near misses. Injuries and illnesses accounted for 73 of which 10 were ‘Reportable to Authorities, sadly, including one fatality. “
There are many jobs which can be done using rope access.
If there is a safe way to access the job using rope access, it can normally be done using that method of access. Although there will be different control measures for different types of work depending on the hazards involved.
